Future of Crawford Gala Day is secured
Preservation of the historic Gala Day – held every August for more than 100 years – was confirmed following two emergency meetings attended by committee members.
Stalwart office bearers Alison Keteb, Gail Coulter and Fiona Cameron resigned their posts, but the gala was saved thanks to volunteers offering to step into their shoes.

Hide AdSecretary Gail said that she and the other two departing members would be doing their best to try to help the new postholders settle into their gala committee roles.
“We are sorry to go; absolutely gutted,” Gail said.
“Alison and I just felt we couldn’t fully commit to our gala roles due to work commitments.
“But it was a very hard decision for us to reach; it was not taken lightly.”
