Motherwell slashing trial collapses
The case against Thomas Cochrane collapsed after the alleged victim failed to identify his attacker.
Cochrane (40), a prisoner, had been held in custody awaiting trial at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Hide AdHe denied striking Simon Campbell repeatedly on the face with a blade to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement in Muir Street on November 17.
After Mr Campbell’s evidence the prosecution announced it was not proceeding with the trial.
Mr Campbell then found himself in the dock. He was fined £400 after failing to impress the sheriff with his conduct during the proceedings.
