Upperward Mountaineering Club celebrates 40th anniversary
The sun shone as more than 20 walkers, including original members, gathered at the Crook Inn, the final destination.
The path was steep as it made a rising traverse above the gorge but the Grey Mare’s Tail waterfall, celebrated in verse by Sir Walter Scott, more than made up for the hard work.

The celebrations continued in the Woodpecker Inn in Lanark. It was a great day and one which will hopefully be repeated by new members who carry the club into its next 40 years!
