14-year-old busker to perform at Blackpool Music Festival
A schoolgirl spotted busking for charity in Cumbernauld is set to showcase her skills at Blackpool Music Festival.
Festival organiser Jon Bamborough spotted 14-year-old Beth Swan, a pupil at Rothesay Academy on Bute, as she played in a shopping centre.
Beth has been raising money by busking in Glasgow for the Moira Anderson Foundation - a support charity for children and adults who have been abused- and Calum’s Cabin- which runs two holiday homes on Bute for seriously ill children and their families.
Jon said: “I was amazed at the confidence and vocal ability from Beth – she was sensational, and I left her a card and said I would be in touch about a festival slot in Blackpool.”
Beth will be singing at the Blackpool Music Festival at HMV, Bank Hey Street at 3.30pm on Friday, October 2, and at 8pm in the Waterloo Hotel, Waterloo Road, Blackpool.
She will also be selling copies of her charity CD.
The four-day Blackpool Music Festival returns to a host of venues across the area from Thursday to Sunday, October 1 to 4.
