A forgotten man recalled

A MEETING in 1930s Manhattan between a legendary actor and a long-forgotten playwright is the scenario for The Man Who Lived Twice, a new drama coming to town later this month.

The play, by Garry Robson, focuses on an encounter between a young John Gielgud and paralysed, blind dramatist Edward Shelton in his penthouse apartment in 1936.

See The Man Who Lived Twice at Cumbernauld Theatre on Saturday, March 24. Tickets are £9/£7, or £5 for under 18s. Box office – 01236 732887.
