A gig billing of two halves at The Glad Cafe

The Glad Cafe’s reputation as a venue for music of all genres continues this month with not one but two shows booked in next Thursday (February 5).

With coffee one of Bach’s great pleasures, John Butt and Dunedin Consort reimagine the Enlightenment coffee house atmosphere, perfoming two cantatas alongside the third orchestral suite from 6pm.

Critic and Tovey chair of music at Edinburgh University Simon Frith will also lead a debate: Why we should be frightened by Bach (and why we are not) — tickets £15.

Stay on until 9pm on Thursday for a gig of a different nature; a late night spot of punk, courtesy of Naomi Punk and Fawn Spots.

The DIY punk stars are back with Television Man, the follow up to 2012 debut The Feeling — £6 in advance.
