A man’s a man for a’ that happens at the Shed

Tram Direct are bigging up Burns in the weekly Live @ the Shed lunchtime slot, providing a show, a drink and something to eat for the not-so-princely sum of £10.

Their take is Rabbie the Man — a celebration of Robert Burns’ music, poetry, loves and life.

Isobel Barrett, manager of Tram Direct, said: “Looking for something more than the tradtional Burns Supper?

“The come along to the Shed in Shawlands and find out more about the man behind the poetry; his loves, politics and fights against injustice — for Burns believed passionately in Scotland and what this nation could achieve in spite of many who thought otherwise.”

It’s the latest in a series of lunchtime shows at the Shawlands nightclub, all aimed at bringing audiences of all ages back to the venue — and back in time, to when it was the famed and glamorous Marlborough.

Performances take place upstairs in the restored blue ballroom — and with those surroundings, a stellar line-up and a wee bite to eat, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth.

Whether that nibble and drink is a case of haggis and dram (to mark the occasion) remains to be seen — but it’s safe to say that the Shed is the place to be to celebrate Ayrshire’s most famous son.
