The show has just finished a run at the Edinburgh Festival, but this leg of the tour is something of a homecoming for Dragon, created by the National Theatre of Scotland, Vox Motus and the Tianjin Children’s Art Theatre and written by southsider Oliver Emanuel (the man behind The Day I Swapped My Dad for Two Goldfish).

A story without words, the show is told through music, movement and puppetry, and is suitable for ages nine and up.

It follows Tommy, who has trouble sleeping since his mum died a year ago.

Since then, life has gone from bad to worse, with his dad grief-stricken, his big sister ignoring him and the school bully singling him out.

Then, one restless night, Tommy goes to the window, opens the curtains and finds a dragon staring right at him...

The show runs October 1-10 (not Monday) at the Citz, 7pm, as well as selected 2pm matinees.

Tickets are £12.50-£20.50 from 429 0022 or citz.co.uk.
