Auditions onSunday fortalent show

The search to find talent in Cumbernauld has begun in earnest!

On Sunday, the very first ‘Cumbernauld’s Got Talent’ competition will take place at the Westerwood Hotel. The local community is invited to come along and be part of the audience - the doors open at 3.30pm.

There is no admission fee but a donation to the nominated charity, the Scottish Spina Bifida Association, would be greatly appreciated.

Due to demand, there will be two auditions - the first from 4pm to 6pm, and the second from 7pm to 8.30pm.

Running their eye over the acts will be celebrity judge Michelle McManus of “Pop Idol” fame, and she will be joined by others including local head teacher Ann Kay, principal teacher of expressive arts Graham Downie, Cumbernauld News and Kilsyth Chronicle editor Jack Shennan and local events management student Stefanie Rice.

After the audition, the judges will whittle down the successful acts. The finalists will have the opportunity to appear on stage in front of a live audience at the annual Fun in the Park Day on Sunday, June 5, when the overall winner will then be announced.

If you have entered to be one of the acts, you will be contacted next week to be given a timeslot for your audition.
