Author book signing at The Avenue

BEST-selling author Peter May returns to The Avenue Shopping Centre in Newton Mearns for the third year in a row to discuss his latest book, Runaway, (partly based in Newton Mearns).

The free event organised by Waterstone’s at Primavera Bistro, is on Monday January 19 between 7pm and
8.30pm.

The event comes exactly a year since a sell-out crowd of book lovers flocked to hear the award-winning Scottish television screenwriter, novelist and crime writer read from Entry Island.

In Runaway, five teenage friends flee Glasgow for London in 1965 to pursue their dream of musical stardom. Yet before the year’s end, three return damaged.

In 2015 a brutal murder forces those three men, now in their sixties, to journey back to London and finally confront the dark truth they have run from for five decades.

Centre manager Michelle McCabe said: “We’re delighted to welcome Peter May back. He draws a capacity crowd as fans flock to hear the acclaimed author talk about his work and answer questions.”
