Annual southside hootnanny Bungo in the Back Lanes is back, taking place between Nithsdale Road and Thorncliffe Gardens from 1-4pm.

The summer party allows southsiders to open their gates and set up stall to sell whatever they fancy — as well as taking advantage of fine food, activities for the little ones and live music courtesy of local bands dotted in each lane.

Organiser Alison Hunter told The Extra: “Bungo in the Back Lanes is famous for its residents’ stalls selling everything from bric-a-brac and jewellery to homemade food and clothes.

People are free to open up their garden or bring a table full of goods they’d like to sell on the day. It’s always exciting to see what appears — previous years have seen lemonade stalls, races and antiques in a shed.”

Loch Fyne will be throwing a few shrimp (and more) on a seafood barbecue while Babu Bombay Street Kitchen provides Indian fare and Bakery 47 sweet treats.

Other activities to look out for are Merry Go Round’s children’s garden, the Glade Cafe garden, Then and Now In and Around Strathbungo, and an architectural trail.
