The event will see thousands flock to the southside park to catch headliners Paolo Nutini (Saturday, August 29) and Calvin Harris (Sunday, August 30).

Saturday’s line up also includes Grace Jones, The View, Soak and Glasgow group Tuff Love, who caught headliner Paolo’s eye at the 2015 SAY Award ceremony.

Tickets are available, for ages 14 and up (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult) — £45 from 08444 999 990.

The Sunday session is sold out, but those lucky enough to have secured tickets will be treated to performances by Ellie Goulding, John Newman, Disciples and Burns.

Summer Sessions has, in previous years, drawn big name acts like Eminem and Avicii — but the event has also caused controversy with Bellahouston neighbours who complain about loud noise and antisocial behaviour.

A spokeswoman for DF Concerts said: “GSS has become Scotland’s biggest city music festival and has brought tens of thousands of music fans and some of the biggest names in global music to the city.

“The vast majority of fans come to the shows with a positive attitude, to enjoy a great day of music and behave extremely well. Last year out of 60,000 music fans, just 34 arrests were made and were for minor public order offences.

“We have two huge shows this year with home-grown headliners and we would ask all fans to have a good time but behave appropriately, look after yourself and each other and respect the neighbourhoods surrounding Bellahouston Park.”
