Brother and sister act

A BROTHER and sister from Cumbernauld are both appearing in Disco Inferno, the latest show from the Apollo Players.

The show is a glittering combination of 1970s music, comedy and drama designed to have audiences dancing out of the theatre.

Its soundtrack of more than 30 numbers such as Disco Inferno and Blame it on the Boogie will be well-known to theatregoers and Greg and Kay Robertson are on stage this week belting them out.

Condorrat residents Greg, 19, and Kay, 21, caught the performing bug at Jacqueline Ingalls' dancing school in Cumber-nauld, which they both joined at the age of five. Both still love to perform and are currently studying community arts at Jordanhill College.

They joined the Apollo Players in 2006 and haven't looked back. The pair will be performing multiple roles.

"I've been in 11 shows now," said Greg. "We both started in Les Miserables but this is very different! It's very upbeat and one of the best shows for audience participation. All the songs in the soundtrack are well-known so everyone should be singing along.

"We hope lots of people from Cumbernauld will come along and see us, after all its' not like they won't know the songs!"

The show runs at the Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow until Saturday, April 24. Perfor-mances start 7.30pm and there are also matinees, today (Wednesday) and Saturday at 2.30pm.
