Christmas fun for day and night

WHETHER it’s family fun or an alternative Christmas get-together, The Shed has plenty of festive cheer on offer this weekend.

Lunchtime at The Shed continues this Saturday with Christmas Cabaret, followed by Christmas Victorian Style on Sunday, and December 21-22.

It’s a touch of Downton Abbey for the Shawlands lords and ladies, with Lord Harold of Nether Auldhouse and co inviting you into the parlour for a game or two.

Tickets for the show are £10, (pie and a drink included), available from [email protected] or 649 5020.

On then to a weird and wonderful night time show, courtesy of Southside Fringe legend and compere Sarcassy Sneek.

Sarcassy is back in the corset for her Seasonal Southside Soiree — a burlesque and cabaret show to seduce you away from those same old Christmas songs.

As ever, proceeds go to the main Fringe event, and the line-up is fabulous to the extreme.

Southside duo The Creative Martyrs bring their Sinister Wink style to the Shed — and their twisted twist on music hall is not to be missed.

Also gracing the stage are southside sweetheart Raven Rose, comedian and poet Kevin P Gilday, the Shakewell Tarts (ooh err), the revolutionaries behind The Greater Shawlands Republic... and more.

The southside’s favourite freaks come out at 7.30pm on Saturday, and tickets are also £10, from www.brownpapertickets.com.

It’s a case of day and night when it comes to these Christmas shows — but whether it’s fun with the little ones, or leaving them at home for a night of decadent debauchery — it seems there’s only one place to be this weekend.
