Dead Man Fall and Other Humans are both among the 16 acts to have been invited to play on the T Break stage after submitting demos to the festival’s expert panel of music industry judges.

Now the bands are hoping music fans from the area will cheer on their performances and make sure they succeed.

Dead Man Fall gained international exposure last December as their song Bang Your Drum was featured by fellow Cumbernauld native Craig Ferguson on his final episode of US chat show The Late Late Show, with the song accompanied by a multitude of Hollywood stars.

Frontman Des McCabe said: “We’ve been buzzing since we heard the news we’d be playing.

“Now we just need to get the T Break tent rocking. We’re competing against some big acts like Sam Smith, Kasabian, David Guetta and Fatboy Slim.

“We’re hopeful the Cumbernauld and Kilsyth contingent there will be up for coming to see a local band before they head off to see the headliners.”

Formed in April, Other Humans are a new band who achieved the unusual distinction of being invited to T Break despite never having performed live!

The band formed at local music studio Paul’s Halls and recorded their first track, Valley, at the studio. The submitted it to the T Break panel who clearly liked what they heard as as invitation was duly forthcoming.

Vocalist Darren Martin of Seafar, who plays alongside Brandon Cassidy and Conroy Hunter, said: “We’re really looking forward to this. In the time since getting the T Break invitation we have performed a few gigs in Glasgow and really enjoyed it.

“Our sound reflects a love of 80s music, synthesisers and all that and it’s been going down well so far.
