Described as “unsettling and full of tension”, Scottish Opera directors spoke of how the wellchosen music of Giusepe Verdi is the perfect soundtrack for this behemoth of Shakespearan drama.

The action comes to Eastwood Park Theatre as part of an outreach programme to engage the wider community in classic text, art, dance and opera — and pupils from Netherlee Primary have been given a chance to tread the boards with the professional artistes, after a series of workshops at the school.

Scottish Opera visited Netherlee to lead children in exercises and role-play, and six were selected to play parts in the production itself.

Seats are predicted to be sold out before the event but there is a chance of cancellations — opera fans are advised to call the box office to find out.
