Dullatur octogenarian Lorne all ready for next adventure
A YEAR on from travelling to Greenland to qualify as a dog sled driver, elderly adventurer Lorne Brown is now preparing for a new mission.
“I got back from the Greenland trip and started wondering what to do with myself next,” said Lorne, who lives in Dullatur. Much as his dog-sledding adventure was inspired by a National Geographic article, an online picture of a via ferrata - a mountain “road with irons” – sparked an idea in the self-confessed workaholic’s mind.
This idea evolved into the 8x8 Challenge on behalf of Guide Dogs, which will see 80-year-old Lorne complete eight vie ferrate in eight days.
