The former Westlife frontman last performed at Motherwell Concert Hall in 2014 and is thrilled to be coming back on October 13.

Shane said: “The last concert in Motherwell was a great night, the place was backed and it’s a beautiful venue.

“It certainly takes some of the stress away when you’ve not only played somewhere before, but been specifically requested by the fans to come back, as at least it should mean people turn up.

“I played in Glasgow at the Clyde Auditorium earlier in the tour and it was real highlight, the atmosphere was amazing and I expect much the same in Motherwell.”

Shane may enjoyed continued success since Westlife formed in 1998, but he isn’t above getting a little starstruck himself such as when he supported Lionel Richie earlier in the summer.

He said: “I always trying an make time for the fans who have given me such great support for so many years, and you never know when you’ll be in the position of being the fan.

“When I was asked to support Lionel I was delighted as I knew it would be a special show in front of 15/20,000 people, but I had no idea if I’d actually get to meet him.

“As it was I got to chat to him for about 15/20 minutes which was so generous of him and he really is one of the nicest people I have ever met “

Known for his great singing voice Shane is trying to become a more rounded musician for his follow-up to 2015’s Right Here.

He said: “I can play a little bit of guitar, but I’d like to learn it properly. My daughter is currently at grade two for piano and she loves it and makes me wish I’d picked up an instrument as a kid.

“I feel my songwriting has improved over the years as I’ve gained more life experience, but I think it definitely helps if you are able to contribute more to the whole process yourself.”
