First for MusicMatters

FOLLOWING on from a string of concerts in the Cumbernauld area, a local music promoter is organising its first event in Glasgow.

On Friday, August 6, MusicMatters will present five acts at Maggie May's, at a concert beginning at 8 pm.

MusicMatters regulars Old Men Sucking on Sweets and Gary Burns will join Eat Meat, Six Million Broken and LK Audio for a night to remember.

Tickets cost 5 each and can be bought at the door.

MusicMatters was founded by Anthony Fitzgerald Caw, who has teamed up with established music promoter and fellow Cumbernauld resident Paul McJimpsey to present this showcase at Maggie May's.

Anthony said: "This is going to be a top night, with five very different acts who are all very good.

"We're hoping to take a sizeable crowd from Cumbernauld - we are hoping our loyal fans will come through.

"We can guarantee the sound and running order will be perfect.

"I know a lot of people will be working until 5pm or so, I'd advise them to get home, have a quick shower, get changed and head straight out for what will be the best night of music yet."

But Music Matters has not left Cumbernauld, and Anthony is already thinking about the next event to organise locally.

He is currently on the lookout for a suitable venue for a rave, planned for September.
