Glasgow's top restaurants cook up a storm at BBC Good Food Show

Restaurateurs from Glasgow Restaurant Association (GRA) will be appearing at this weekend's 12th BBC Good Food Show Scotland at SEC Centre, Glasgow.

Running from Friday 19th – Sunday 21st October, visitors to the show will get the chance to sample the city’s culinary delights at pop up

restaurants from some of Glasgow’s finest eating establishments.

On Friday, it’s Chez Mal, Malmaison Glasgow’s French-inspired restaurant, popping up with head chef John Burns delighting the audience with Chez Mal staples and gluten free and vegan options.

On Saturday, it’s the return of one of Scotland’s most enduring restaurants, Two Fat Ladies at the Buttery, who will be serving the very best in seafood and seasonal vegetarian dishes.

On Sunday, The Grill on the Corner, based in Bothwell Street, will be making their debut at the show with a menu of Grill favourites including: braised beef bon bons; rump steak; cod loin and some tasty vegetarian options.

GRA members will be taking part in a new feature for 2018 called Taste the World presented by the Glasgow Restaurant Association and hosted by Anne Mulhern from The Willow Tea Rooms. Guests are invited to come along to the sampling theatre and listen to local restaurateurs talk about the ethos behind their businesses as they share samples of canapés and sweet bites representing different cuisine from around the world. Anne will be chatting to chefs and restaurateurs from: Red Onion; La Bonne Auberge; The Square Bar & Restaurant and Masala Twist.

Visitors can also see celebrity chefs: Nadiya Hussain; Tom Kerridge; John Torode and the return of Paul Hollywood who will be cooking live all weekend in The Big Kitchen. Food lovers can shop and taste their way around the Show, trying regional specialities and new ingredients from over 100 of the top artisan food and drink producers.

Ryan James, chair of Glasgow Restaurant Association, said: “Glasgow Restaurant Association has been involved with the BBC Good Food Show Scotland for a few years now and it’s a great way for us to profile our member restaurants to an audience of food lovers. Visitors will get the chance to sample food and hear from local chefs and business owners at our new GRA sampling feature, Taste the World and our pop up restaurants are always a big hit at the event.”
