Golden wonder

AN EXCLUSIVE run of Jason and the Argonauts comes to Cumbernauld Theatre next week.

The show, from Visible Fictions, is about to tour in the United States but is making a brief visit to Cumbernauld first.

Jason’s villainous uncle has murdered his brother, Jason’s father, and stolen the crown.

However, Jason, who was banished as a baby, plans to reclaim his rightful throne.

But first, Jason and the crew of the Argo must go on a quest for the golden fleece. All that stands between him and his goal are monsters, a dragon and clashing rocks...

Director Douglas Irvine said: “I’ve never forgotten seeing the Harryhausen film version for the first time as a child.

“The purity, inventiveness, thrills and scares it and the original story offer is something I want to pass onto new audiences.”
