Huskies need a home

Two characterful dogs – both in need of loving homes – will give a new owner or owners a permanent reminder of Scotland’s Games glory.

The nation rejoiced as Ross Murdoch and Michael Jamieson took their places on the top spots of the podium after competing in the 200m Breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games.

Now Dogs Trust Glasgowhas named Siberian Husky pair Gold and Silver, in the hope their new names will help bring them luck and put them on the fast track to a new home together.

It’s a way of linking two animals in excellent condition to an event all Scots can be proud of.

Sandra Lawton, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Glasgow, said: “The nation is so proud of Murdoch and Jamieson and we thought what better way to commemorate their achievements than naming this delightful doggy duo in their honour.

“Like their sporting heroes, Gold and Silver enjoy lots of daily exercise and need plenty of training to ensure they remain in top condition. “

She added: “Hoping to find a medal-worthy home, they are looking for experienced owners who can help build up their confidence and take time to settle into their new surroundings.
“We would love to see them find the perfect new owner and training partner who could give them a happy home together.”
