Last rib-ticklers for comedy crowd

The Garage is going all barn dance on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights for a reprisal of Rich Hall’s Hoedown, with the American star appearing for a mash-up of music and comedy, accompanied by his regular band of “talented and chronically unemployable urchins”.

The blurb promises that “the floor will reek of liquor and spent dreams” — and somehow, that sounds alright by us.

Also appearing over the weekend are Scotland’s own Janey Godley (for Oh My Godley!), as well as offensive comedian and magic virtuoso Jerry Sadowitz.

Sadowitz’s Comedian, Magician, Psychopath! promises plenty of bad language and less-than-PC musings — but there’s also plenty of sleight of hand tricks to distract the easily offended.

From there, there are laughs aplenty from the likes of Omid Djalili, Rory Bremner, Susan Calman, Des Clarke, Miles Jupp and Sarah Millican.

The final throes of the festival are piped in by Glasgow comedy scene stalwart Craig Hill and his show Tartan About!

The camp, kilted funnyman is on at the Oran Mor next Friday and Saturday (April 4-5) for an evening of unadulterated fun.

Regardless of what tickles your funny bone, it may be your last chance to catch those acts big and small before they set up shop in Edinburgh this summer.
