Luck be a lady for Theatre South

Theatre South Productions are chancing their luck at Eastwood Park Theatre next week, inviting Hollywood stars along for the latest showing of Guys and Dolls.

It’s the second time the southside am dram group have performed the show — and with a big budget remake of the 1955 film on the cards, it was only fair to invite movie stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Channing Tatum down to Eastwood Park.

While the duo have yet to get back in touch, director Richard Waugh — who played the lead role of Sky Masterson in Theatre South’s 1997 production — is putting all bets on the homegrown stars.

The Clarkston man (47) said: “As far as I’m concerned, the real stars are the cast I’ve had the pleasure to drill for the past six months.

“Though I doubt Hollywood will ever call upon me to direct a movie, the cast’s hard work means Eastwood theatregoers will be treated to a show that will equal the spectacle of the upcoming remake.

“From the spectacular Luck Be a Lady to the classic title track, the show is bursting with Oscar-worthy songs and performances.”

Theatre South’s Guys and Dolls runs March 10-14 (including a Saturday matinee) and tickets are £13-£16 from .
