Monday, Tuesday — Happy Days

The whole gang are there; the Cunningham family, Potsie, Ralph Malph, Joanie and Chachi and — of course — the King of Cool himself, Arthur ‘The Fonz’ Fonzarelli.

It’s the 50s again, and we’re back at the gang’s favourite hangout, Arnold’s diner, which is under threat of demolition — but can The Fonz save the day?

There’s potential for a whole lot of singing, dancing and retro style galore — but fingers crossed there’s no jumping the shark...

The show — written by series creator Garry Marshall — features the Happy Days theme tune, as well as a host of original songs by Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe winner Paul 
Williams.

There are a few familiar faces on the scene too, with Heidi Range (of Sugababes fame) as Pinky Tuscadero, Ben Freeman (Legally Blonde, Dreamboats and Petticoats) as The Fonz and Cheryl Baker (from 80s pop sensations Bucks Fizz) as Mrs Cunningham.

But perhaps most familiar of all is one of the southside’s own — Scott Waugh — taking on the lead role of Richie Cunningham.

Originally from Newlands, Scott studied at Knightswood secondary before moving on to the Dance School of Scotland and the Guildford School of Acting (graduating in August last year), and is now touring the UK with the hit musical.

Happy Days the Musical runs February 24 until March 1.
