On Iceland’s southern shore, icebergs break off from the glacier and drift through a large lagoon to the sea where they are washed up on to the beach of black volcanic sand. After two days of rain and drizzle the weather improved.
Just after dawn some light broke through on the distant horizon. Wearing wellie boots and with the Nikon D800E camera on a tripod, a slow shutter speed of two seconds captured small pebbles breaking the foam as it drifted back towards the icebergs and the sea. A film speed of 80 ISO and the 17 – 35mm lens (at 26mm) at an aperture of f/8.0 ensured that the whole image was pinpoint sharp. Iceland is a dream for any photographer!
