Open Mic singing auditions this weekend

AUDITIONS for one of the UK’s biggest singing contests will be held in Glasgow this Saturday. Open Mic UK attracts thousands of entrants hoping to land a share of £50,000 in prizes and the chance to perform in the O2 in London. The competition is open to anyone in the UK, who sings any genre of music, and kids are welcome to compete in the Under 16s category. Successful auditioners will perform in live shows and compete for the chance to sing at the grand final. The panel of judges includes industry insiders, A&R, voice coaches and celebrtity guests. Last year’s guest judges included Dane Bowers of Another Level and Radio 1 DJ Ras Kwam. The winning act will be offered a recording and management contract to develop their music and release their single. Auditions in Glasgow will be divided into three age groups: 16 and under, 17-22 and 23 and over. All manner of singers, from solo artists to groups, are eligible.
