Paying tribute to Floyd

Founded in 1965, the band sold more than 250 million records worldwide, changing the face of rock music in the 1970s.

After a reunion in 2005, Syd Barret passed away in 2006, while Richard Wright died two years later.

Although David Gilmour has repeatedly insisted the influential rock band are no more, he joined original members Nick Mason and Roger Waters at a Wall tour show in 2011.

However, in 2014, the spirit of Pink Floyd is going strong with the Australian Pink Floyd show continuing the legend.

The tribute band will head to Europe as part of their Set The Controls tour.

The tour will draw heavily from the iconic Dark Side Of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Division Bell albums .

Uniquely, performances will also feature an element that will allow the audience to choose the material that the band plays.

Following on from their enormously successful dates last year, this even bigger UK tour will see that band bringing their meticulously crafted show to an ever-growing audience.

Founder member Jason Sawford told Scene: “We cannot wait to start the tour, the UK audiences are always brilliant.”

Bassist Colin Wilson added: “This tour will take the band the length and breadth of the UK.

“We’re looking forward to meeting up with the Aussie Floyd fans again and, of course, playing the amazing music of Pink Floyd.”

The Australian Pink Floyd Show are much more than a tribute to the great music of Pink Floyd, they are the gold standard.

The band attempt to capture and convey the spirit as well as the sound, and slavish attention is lavished upon their jaw-dropping visuals and effects.

Aussie Floyd, who have sold over three million concert tickets in their own right, are much loved for their near note perfect performances which remain true to the original.

Their loving recreation of the magic of Pink Floyd’s oeuvre is unmissable.

The band have a reputation for stretching the boundaries of what can be done with the magical music of Pink Floyd, and this new tour concept shows them at their creative best.

The band’s fans love what the band do and this tour format will allow them now to get directly involved and, indeed, Set the Controls.
