Philharmonia youth orchestra is on the up

GLASGOW Philharmonia youth orchestra takes to the stage at Greenbank parish church this week for a festive treat.

The local orchestra — formed and conducted by former Williamwood pupil Ross Gunning — are joined by RockUs choir and soloists from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to perform songs from west end and broadway shows.

The 70-strong group featured in The Extra in July, when Ross brought them together — all at the young age of 18.

And it seems that Glasgow Philharmonia are still going strong — so best to catch them on the way to the top.

The concert kicks off on Sunday (December 15) at 7pm.

Tickets are £5, available at the door.
