Pic of the Week: Carnival Time by Alex Dorrens
I WISH I could say that I flew down to Venice, joined in the celebrations and took this shot of one of the revellers but sadly no. It is more of an exercise with Photoshop than the real thing.
Out shopping with my wife we saw some carnival masks for sale and for fun I asked her to hold one up to her face so that I could take a picture.
When I saw the image on screen I decided to change the background to a shot of fireworks I took at Edinburgh Castle with the result being a reasonable competition entry.
The mask was taken using pop-up flash and the firework taken at 160s, f4.5 and an ISO of 320.
