Pic of the Week: Linn Park Otter by Chris Everett
This picture was taken in Linn Park at the pool between the bridge and the falls. Sightings of otters there have become a regular event over the last few winters.
My previous attempts at photographing them had been unsuccessful due to the often poor lighting conditions at this spot.
This time though I was there around midday when the winter sun lights the pool and at last I was successful. A bonus was I also got a shot of a kingfisher perching nearby taking advantage of the disturbance caused by the otter hunting in the shallows.
The camera used was a Canon 60D set at 800 ISO and 1/640 second and f5.6. The lens was a Canon 400mm f5.6L.
