

One of the Red Arrows routines involved two aircraft flying toward you at high speed and then cutting in front of each other giving the impressions of a collision.
Lighting was very tricky and I had to increase the exposure by two stops to compensate for the light background. Freezing the aircraft was essential and I had to increase the speed to 1/1000 of a second with an aperture of F7 on my Canon D60.

I was using a 70-200 lens with an extender to bring the action closer.
Sadly 2013 was the last show at Leuchars and we shall miss this spectacular annual event.
