Revamp for Revival FM radio

The station, founded in Kilsyth in the 1990s by a group of Christians, has been on the airwaves since 1996.

Starting out with a limited, short term licence, the station is now a full time broadcaster , 24 hours a day.

Jules Crispin, one of the regular presenters, explained this change. “We have long been considered the Christian radio station, but we are now going to be focusing a lot more heavily on general content, playing a wider range of music, more in line with the sort of thing you might hear on Radio 2. “You’ll hear the likes of U2, Emili Sandé and Mumford & Sons.”

The non-profit radio station is based in a small studio just outside Cumbernauld Airport and also provides recording facilities to Cumbernauld Audio News, which is a talking newspaper based on the Cumbernauld News and Kilsyth Chronicle which is supplied to local visually impaired people.

The relaunch officially started on Monday.

Jules added: “Our listeners have been behind this as well, they want to hear about a greater variety of topics too. For six days we’ll cater to the whole community with our content, although on Sundays we will maintain a higher proportion of religious content.”
