It’s been a long time coming — but finally, musical fans will be able to catch Shrek live and in the (green) flesh at the King’s Theatre.

Announced back in 2013, the show is on tour direct from London, where it attracted audiences almost reaching the million mark.

Nigel Harman — the original Lord Farquaad in the west end production — steps up to direct the large scale production. He commented: “This show is very special to me with its dizzying blend of great characters, a hilarious script and sublime music. It’s visually stunning, and the story has the magic of moving at great pace while still being surprisingly intimate.”

Fans of the big green ogre and his talkative donkey can catch Shrek the Musical from Wednesday (Apr 29) until May 17 — atgtickets.com.
