Skulls put their heads together

THE Skullery are looking forward to tonight’s gig in Cumbernauld as they feel this will kickstart the ‘Rise of the Skulls’.

Although a relatively new band, the six-piece outfit boasts very experienced performers, five-part vocals and a setlist that differs from your run-of-the-mill rock covers outfit.

The band - who hail from Kilsyth and other nearby towns - came together during winter 2010 when the original four members Matt McCluskey, his niece Jillian Thomson, Jack Fay and John Fitzgerald decided they wanted to go back to their musical roots, in rock, blues and funk. They quickly recruited guitarist Davy Dick and drummer Martin Doherty, and started playing the pub circuit.

The gig at the Twa Corbies tonight (Friday), starts at 8pm. Entry is £3.
