A moving, humorous and ultimately uplifting show, The Last Yankee features a cast of crack Scottish talent, including David Tarkenter and Pauline Turner, who both impressed the critics with their performances in All My Sons, alongside familiar TV and stage faces Jane McCarry (Still Game) and Stewart Porter (Shetland and River City).

Leroy Hamilton, a descendant of one of America’s founding fathers and “The Last Yankee”, lives a modest life as a carpenter and has eschewed the corporate rat race. This has estranged him from his wife, Patricia, who is in hospital and suffering from depression.

Over the course of one day, Leroy and Patricia try to come to terms with Leroy’s choices and Patricia’s ‘illness’, and they take a tentative step towards reconciliation and a brave new future.

Its Arthur Miller season marks Rapture Theatre’s first project as a Creative Scotland regularly funded organisation and artistic director Michael Emans is delighted:“I am thrilled to be directing two powerful pieces by Arthur Miller for Rapture.

“The support from Creative Scotland has allowed Rapture to dream big and being able to tour a challenging piece such as Miller’s The Last Yankee to studio venues, with a tour that takes in Inverness to Selkirk, reflects Rapture’s commitment to bring quality theatre to smaller venues.

“I am also very proud that The Last Yankee will be performed as part of the 2015 Mental Health Arts and Film Festival”.

And you can catch the performance at Eastwood Park Theatre on Thursday, October 22 at 7.30pm. Tickets priced £14 / £12 / £10 available at: www.eastwoodparktheatre.co.uk or tel: 0141 577 4956
