Christian Theatre group returns to Hamilton with specially penned passion play

An innovative Christian theatre group is making a comeback for the first time since 2019 by staging a performance of the Easter story in the middle of Hamilton on Good Friday

Drama Kirk is returning with 'I am With You Always' penned by playwright Simon McCallum whose previous credits include BBC Scotland's River City.

And the cast features a mix of churchgoers and professional actors who will movingly depict the key events of Holy Week.

Director Liz Blackman said: “The Easter story is a perpetual message of hope. Despite the despair we see in Jesus’ followers, he beats death and returns. However, I think this message of hope is especially true this Easter. As a community, we too are emerging from darkness. We need the Easter message of hope and re-birth more than ever The group is delighted to be performing in person and sharing the new play.”

The hour-long performance will take place at 2pm in Castle Street.
