Dirty Dancing tribute show

A tribute to one of the most popular movie soundtracks of the 1980s comes to Motherwell Concert Hall in May.

An Evening of Dirty Dancing: The Tribute Show makes its debut at the venue on May 9 as part of its fifth anniversary tour.

The show is fully choreographed and the cast features Julian Essex-Spurrier in the male lead, following major roles in Saturday Night Fever, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, West Side Story and Starlight Express. The leading lady meanwhile is Aimie Atkinson, winner of BBC 2’s Voice of Musical Theatre, who has also performed as Penny in Carnaby Street the Musical and the Take That musical Never Forget.

An Evening of Dirty Dancing: The Tribute Show is directed by Paul Spicer with choreography from Leanne Harwood. and a soundtrack featuring many songs from the movie.

Paul Spicer said: “The atmosphere is always electric. We totally encourage our audiences to sing and dance and immerse themselves in the summer of ‘63. I watch people leave the theatre on a real high.”
