I Will Survive in town soon

Coming to Cumbernauld Theatre on Saturday, February 21 is I Will Survive, a feelgood comedy musical from Insideout Productions.

The director and producer is Paul Harper-Swan, who is delighted with the show’s popularity to date.

“The show started out at the Tron in October and it totally sold out,” he said.

This initial success led to Paul deciding to take the play - which tells the story of a group of female friends who initially have a girls’ night in but later go out on the town to cheer up one of their number - on tour. And it has been a highly successful tour at that.

Audiences seem to really be responding to the show, with its soundtrack packed with dancefloor fillers dating from the 1970s right up to the present day.

“It is a proper feelgood show and has been packing theatres around the country and getting rave reviews as well,” said Paul. It starts Donna Hazelton, star of Channel 4’s show Musicality and Paul intends to keep it touring until the summer.

However work is also underway on a version of the Little Shop of Horrors which will debut at the Webster Memorial Theatre in Arbroath. If it goes down as well as I Will Survive it’s only a matter of time until it comes to Cumbernauld.

The performance on February 21 starts at 7.45pm. Tickets, priced £5-£10, are available on 01236 732887.
