Tune in to this festive classic

LOCAL drama group the Apex Players are tackling a festive “radio play” for their next stage appearance.

The Muirfield Centre-based group present a live performance of the radio drama version of a family favourite, “Miracle On 34th Street”, complete with sound effects.

Robert Grice, chairman of the Apex Players, said: “We got the idea after Alan McPhail, who is directing this production, and myself went to see a Christmas show a few years ago. It was billed as a ‘radio style theatre show’ featuring stage plays that had been adapted into 1940s-style radio plays. We found it absolutely gripping, and were particularly impressed by the sound effects.
