Village ready for Musicfest to get started

Uddingston Musicfest takes place at venues across the village from February 13-21.

Feb 13 - 11am: Ring up the Curtain at Church of the Nazarene as Nigel Gatherer holds a mixed instruments workshop.

2pm: Scratchy Noises - Slow Session at Church of the Nazarene.

7.30pm: Let’s have a Ceilidh at Uddingston Old Parish Church.

Feb 14 - 6.30pm: Songs of Praise at Baptist Church.

Feb 15 - 2pm: George Rodger and friends host a tea dance in Uddingston Old.

Feb16 - 5pm: Business guru Martin Stepek teaches the art of Mindfulness in Uddingston Library.

7.30pm: Ebenezer Congregational and St John the Baptist Church choirs join forces at St Andrew’s Episcopal Church for With Hearts and With Voices.

Feb 17 - Street Music Day sees busking encouraged anywhere you see the ‘Music Welcome here’ sticker.

10.30am: Scotland’s former makar Liz Lochead joins primary school children at Uddingston Library as they read their favourite Scottish poems.

Feb 18 - 7.30pm: B Flat Miners from Summerlee Museum perform at the Church of the Nazarene.

Feb 19 - from 7.30pm: Ukulele group Strumulele at The Rowantree.

Feb 20 - 7.30pm: The Ian Walker band bring Christian and rock music to Uddingsrton Old.

Feb 21 - 6.30pm: Evening service in Uddingston Old.

Entry to events is a minimum donation of £2 with proceeds going to Alzheimer’s Scotland, the homeless and people with learning difficulties.
