FRIDAY NOVEMBER 13

HEAD west for another turn around The Electric Gardens, back by popular demand after February’s sell out run. Light and sound show at the Botanic Gardens kicks off today, and runs until December 6. Runs 5.30-8pm Wednesday to Sunday and ticket prices vary.

WINE and dine night at Loks Bar & Kitchen. Four courses with wine matched to each by expert Guy Chatfield. 7.30pm start, and costs £30 per person. Call 632 5727 to book.

CABARET at the 20s themed Gatsby Speakeasy, returning to The Rum Shack from 7.30pm (show 8.30pm). Tickets £7 available on the door or in advance from www.brownpapertickets.com.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 14

CHRISTMAS fair at Greenbank Parish Church. Stalls selling gifts and tearoom open 10am-1pm. £2/£1/under 5s free.

FUNGI Foray at Dams to Darnley Country Park. Join the rangers and an expert on a free walk from 10am until 12.30pm, leaving from the World Buffet car park. Booking required on 577 4053.

FEED the birds at Rouken Glen Park. Join the workshop, make your own bird feeder and then find out more about the park’s feathered visitors. 1-3pm, and free to join - booking required on 638 4121or [email protected].

LIGHTS switch on marks the start of Christmas for Giffnock Village. Festive family fun from 1-5pm, including a visit from Santa, children’s rides, Pulse FM and a fantastic fireworks display. Free entry.

HAMPDEN Park hosts Glasgow’s Whisky Festival 2015. 1-5pm for drams from Scotland and all over the world, stalls, food and gifts. Tickets to the event are £35, including a Glencairn glass and souvenir programme.

SANTA’S grotto, stalls, tearoom and more at the 205th Glasgow Boys Brigade Christmas Fair. Runs 2-4pm at Carswell Hall. £2 entry includes hot drink.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 15

GREENBANK Garden decks the halls with the annual Christmas Fair. 11am-4pm for the coach house craft fair, and let the children take the trail in search of Santa’s elves. Admission to the fair is included in ticket cost to Greenbank House and Garden.

FESTIVE fun at The Avenue. Shopping Saturday and Sunday, with the big lights switch on taking place 2.30-4.30pm today (lights at 4pm) - see p3 for details.

MUSIC courtesy of East Renfrewshire’s Schools Jazz Band, in concert at Park Church, Giffnock. 7pm start and tickets are £6, including light refreshment - available on the door or by calling 620 2204 Tues-Fri, 9am-noon. Monies raised will go to the orchestra, and to church funds.

MONDAY NOVEMBER 16

SCOTTISH Wildlife Trust Talk by photographer David Palmar on St Kilda and Mingulay. 7.30-9.30pm at Duff Memorial Hall - suggested donation £2 for members, £3 for non-members (children go free). Tea/coffee provided, courtesy of the SWT’s Clarkston and East Kilbride Group.

THEATRE at Govanhill Baths as Leylines presents The Giant and Her Daughter. 7.30pm show in the Rags to Riches studio space and tickets are £7/£5.Runs until Saturday.

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 17

PANTOMIME season kicks off at Eastwood Park Theatre with EROS Musical Society’s Sleeping Beauty. Tuesday-Friday 7.30pm show, plus 1pm and 6pm Saturday shows. Tickets £10-£12 from 577 4956.

TRAM Direct presents Heartlands, by Urban Fox Theatre Co, at The Shed. 8pm show following protagonist Charlie, returning home in the wake of a public scandal. and tickets are £8, available from 637 0778.

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 19

AFTERNOON tea and whist at Queen’s Park Bowling Club, from 1.30pm. Tickets are £2, available on the door, and all are welcome along.

TALK held by the Busby and Clarkston Horticultural Society, on selection and care of roses. 7.30pm start.
