FRIDAY OCTOBER 16

FOODIES will be flocking the city centre for the latest Chompsky pop up, this time at Drury Street Bar. 12-9pm today, Saturday and Sunday for !Dixieland! - a Glasgow take on creole food from the French quarter of New Orleans and plenty of Dixieland jazz.

SHOW for little ones at Eastwood Park Theatre as Hairy Maclary’s Cat Tales brings favourite characters back to the stage. 1pm and tickets are £10 standard, £35 family.

CRAFTER-NOON at Dams to Darnley Country Park - part of the Family Arts Festival. 1-3pm, and free to join. Booking required on 577 4053 and please wear suitable clothing.

THEATRE at Eastwood Park as Wing & A Prayer Theatre Productions presents Sheerluck and the Case of the Missing Case. 7.30pm each evening until Saturday, plus a 2.30pm Sat mat.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 17

CAFFEINE fix ahoy at The Briggait for the annual Glasgow Coffee Festival, organised by Dear Green Coffee Roasters. Includes the UK Coffee Roasting Championship. 10am-7pm and entry is £10.

EXHIBITION of Patchwork and Quilting at Greenbank Garden, featuring a new selection of work by The Friendship Quilters, handcrafted gifts for sale and a tea room. Today and tomorrow, 11am-5pm and entry - including raffle - is £1.

LOVE Autumn Festival at Whole Foods in Giffnock. 12-7pm for roast chestnuts, corn on the cob and pumpkin pie, plus market stalls (open until 4pm) and a beer tent serving crisp pints and mulled cider. Free entry.

HALLOWEEN Hootenanny fun continues at The Village Storytelling Centre in Pollok, with gruesome weekly workshops running Saturdays 12-3pm - today, constructing huge Russian monster the Bannik with sculptor Euan Ogilvie (for ages five and up). Free to join.

FUNGI Discovery walk around Rouken Glen Park. Join Graeme Walker of the Clyde and Argyll Fungus Group for a foray for fungi, 2-4pm. Free event but booking required on 638 4121 or [email protected]. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

MONDAY OCTOBER 19

LIFE fitness classes at Newton Mearns Baptist Church. Today, high intensity interval training, 10-10.45am (25 minute class). £3 per session and the cafe will be open for refreshments. More on Wednesday.

WHIT’S Yer Passion? is the question of the day at Barrhead Foundry for an afternoon of music, drama and poetry - part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival. 1-4pm this Monday and next, and workshop is free to join.

EVENING talk at Rouken Glen Park, with botanist Ben Averis talking about the world of bryophytes, an ancient form of plant. 6.30-8.30pm - no booking required.

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 21

FITNESS classes continue at Newton Mearns Baptist Church. Today, dance/keep fit from 10am until 10.45am and circuit-based class for beginners or 50+ 11-11.45am. £3 per session and the cafe will be open for refreshments.
