Window to the Past: Coustholm Road c1895
Tram lines were first laid from the city along Pollokshaws Road to Pollokshaws via Kilmarnock Road and Coustonholm Road to a terminus in Main Street at the point where the Co-op building was later built.
The first depot for the horse drawn vehicles was at the junction of Coustonholm Road and Pleasance Street. This tram is about to turn from Coustonholm Road into Kilmarnock Road. Note the horse bus passing on the left.
