This was the central section of the street that is now part of Thornliebank Road.
At this time Bob
McKay was manager of the Co-op grocery shop on the right.
The only protection shops needed in those days were the iron concertina fold-along gates seen here covering the entrance to the doors.
Greenbank Street is beyond the two shops blinds.
