Charity dealt massive blow after being told their vans don't meet criteria for low emission zone in Glasgow

Glasgow homelessness charity Emmaus has launched an urgent appeal to help it fund new energy efficient vans as its existing transport does not comply with the city’s new emission zone guidelines being introduced in June.

The majority of the charity’s income is generated in their social enterprise operation which sells donated furniture and household items. The vans which also deliver food to a soup kitchen are an essential part of the charity’s operations but continuing to operate them will involve an £85 charge per day.

A GoFunding page hopes to raise £20,000. To donate see
