This has included assistance with shopping, telephone befriending, help with the people that Cosgrove support and various other activities to brighten up the local community, including gardening at YES in Rouken Glen and the revamp of the Connexions centre in Giffnock.

The recent lockdown, and the needs that this highlighted, meant that Cosgrove adapted to meet the requirements of the community to ensure it aided those in the community that need additional support, whether they would regularly receive support or just benefited from a little extra assistance.

Councillor Annette Ireland is one the elected officials who have stepped up and volunteered over the past six months across the community, including her ward area of Clarkston, Netherlee and Williamwood.

Councillor Ireland: “It’s been an absolute honour and privilege to have been able to volunteer with Cosgrove Care over these past months.

“It’s allowed me to see first-hand the wonderful work they do in our local communities and I have nothing but admiration for the difference they make in local people’s lives. I very much look forward to continuing to support them.”

Additionally, thanks to the help from the community, Cosgrove has also been able to deliver five weeks of summer playscheme to 37 local families at Young Enterprise in Rouken Glen.
