Glasgow’s Golden Generation opens new charity shop in Shawlands

Glasgow’ Golden Generation has cut the ribbon and opened its new shop in Shawlands.

The charity was delighted that Michelle McManus was on hand to pop the bubbly and cut the ribbon to officially open the shop.

The charity hope that they will raise £60,000 per year from the shop situated within the popular locale.

Glasgow’s Golden Generation, CEO, Morag McIntosh said: “I’m delighted to open a second charity shop after the success of our sister shop in Partick, these vital funds will make a huge difference to funding a range of services for the elderly in Glasgow and we are delighted with the contribution and donations from the generous local community.”

Michelle McManus, also a former resident in ShawlandS, added: “It’s a phenomenal addition to Shawlands shopping and I wish the charity every success with this new venture.”

Glasgow’s Golden Generation will be welcoming donations and have vans available to collect good quality items five days a week from 11-2pm.
