Ageas UK confirmed it has received interest in both staff and the facilities.

A spokesperson said: “There have been a number of initial approaches from organisations looking for employees and call centre facilities.

“Ageas UK is exploring these in detail with the full support of the Scottish Government and its agencies.“

On Wednesday Ageas UK senior management met with Scottish Enterprise, North Lanarkshire Council and its partner agencies.

The spokesperson continued: “It was a positive and constructive meeting, focussed on exploring options to ensure continued operations at the office after the proposed closure date of March 31, subject to employee consultation.

“All parties are hopeful that a positive outcome can be secured. Ageas UK and interested parties now need time to consider all opportunities and fully develop those that will provide the best outcome. The group has agreed to keep in close contact in order to review progress.

“We are working hard to look at new opportunities for our Tannochside office. Business Minister Paul Wheelhouse, Scottish Enterprise and North Lanarkshire Council have provided strong support and we remain committed to doing all we can to secure future jobs in the area at what we know is a difficult time for our people.”
