Lanark roadworks - Christmas trade fear
Scottish Water plan to run a one-way traffic system on stretches of
the A73, the main route between Lanark and Carluke, from September 30

Traffic has already been held up on the road this month by Scottish
Power cabling works and one Lanark councillor, Catherine McClymont,
has appealed to the water company to delay its work “to give the
drivers at least a bit of a break from hold-ups.”

Hide AdIn the meantime members of the Lanark Business Group have asked the
town’s Community Council to take up their case with the
company,fearing the potential damage it will do to trade during the
Christmas shopping period, warning some shops could close if customers
can’t get into Lanark easily.
